AACFINC's mission is to provide autistic adults and families caring for their autistic children with up to $50,000 dollars to pay down or eliminate any debt accumulated as a direct result of medical care or educational therapy needed to maintain a safe, structured and healthy quality of life.

We rely on the kindness of our neighbors worldwide.  The autism community would be well served with only 600,000 "one time" contributors giving $25 dollars.  By accomplishing this feat, we will officially become a self-sufficient financial non-profit serving the autism community for life.  So, click on the graphic below and become a historic contributor to this groundbreaking concept for assistance.

What We "Don't" Do

You might be wondering what it will take for you to qualify.  This program is a private one so the criteria for qualification is more personal.  My family has personally gone through this journey and we are well aware of the varying circumstances that exist to every family.  However, I have designed a question and answer system that can clearly weed out those who are looking for a loan to purchase a car to a couple trying to become independent adults.

I am quite blunt because of my Asperger way of looking at things and this may be tough to hear.  We can not take on the responsibility of funding a family that has been irresponsible financially.  There are many city and state government programs, along with Goodwill and Salvation Army, that will provide families with clothes, food, toys, a job and even a vehicle.  We are not here for that.  The funds are directly designed to target the debt that has been generated, with respect to the due dillegence of the autistic adult or parents caring for their autistic children, because of medical, theraputic and travel expenditures.  These funds are for paying down or completely eliminating the debt.  Purchasing a vehicle, for example, is additional debt.  Paying down or eliminating your mortgage, a car note, (you get the picture) is what we are here to help you do.

Welcome! I'm Michael Buckholtz ('buk - holts), entertainer and former MC Hammer record producer, diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome.  Seeing the plight of many with autism, I decided to create a financial program to benefit the autism community as a whole.  The AACFINC program provides autistic adults, adults with Asperger's Syndrome that need to make a fresh start and families, caring for autistic children, with the funds to either alleviate or eliminate burdensome debt.  This debt would be a direct result of a lack of sufficient healthcare coverage, excessive travel to theraputic sessions and tuition to educational institutions that cater directly to the needs of autistic children, adults and their families.

The cost of living with autism is undeniably cost prohibitive.  It is, truly, difficult to estimate this cost because the treatments are many and blanket breakthroughs are few.  It is a learning signature that requires time in order to nurture speaking and or basic social interaction.  It is this "time" that's necessary and the infinite cost just comes with the territory.

That is why I decided to become proactive and develop a national "SafetyNet" fund to help families caught in the financial 'hampster wheel' of therapy and medical treatment costs necessary to help enhance the learning potential of their autistic child.  I've also included in this senario the autistic and Asperger adult.

Most autistic or Asperger adults, wherever they may be in age or on the spectrum, find themselves either regularly unemployed or under employed.  This can often lead to financial devestation, a lack of healthcare, homelessness and in some cases, death.  No one truly knows how often this may be occuring.  Autistic adults must be able to get the help they need and start their lives over again once they've gotten a proper diagnosis.  Many assisted living programs can help, but, just like anything else, it will cost something if these programs do not exist in your hometown or state.  We are determined to be the program that can help put an autistic adult's life back together.  When you are ready to take that "second" step in your newly diagnosed life, we will be there for you.  We are a community that has love and we will take care of each other.

In line with being a community that cares for each other, 92% of our funds come from everyday hardworking people like you.  Community involvement from you will be the key to the success of this program.  We believe in total transparency.  Not just the transparency required by law.  This is where we feel we are different from most non-profit and financial organizations.  The funds we raise go "directly" back into the autism community.  We've structured our organization to run efficiently on an 8% budget.  It is more than possible to keep the administrative costs that low.  It's just that most non-profits don't want to.  We only need to keep the doors open, virtually and figuratively, so that qualified adults and families can get the assistance they truly need.
