Meet Michael Buckholtz

I'm Michael Buckholtz, the founder of AACF, Inc. I was diagnosed with high-functioning Asperger's Syndrome and OCD. My life, spanning from a profession in the military to a songwriter, performer and record producer with M.C. Hammer has taught me perseverance and to transform so-called “negatives” into positives. My life with AS, and helping those families in financial need touched by ASD led me to form this non-profit organization.

What is ASD and Asperger’s?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) represents a range of brain development disorders characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. Asperger Syndrome (also Asperger's Syndrome or AS) is a subset of ASD. AS differs from other ASDs by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Although not mentioned in standard diagnostic criteria, physical clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported.

Aid for Autistic Children Foundation, Inc. has only one mission: reduce the financial burden on families coping with autism so they can focus attention seeking the necessary assistance for their autistic loved one. The aid will be directly targeted to relieve the financial burden the family deems most obstructive in allowing them to focus solely on giving their autistic loved one the best tools and skills for a productive life in today's society.
